After graduating from UCLA with a specialty in labor relations, Maggie spent five years in social work. Maggie wanted a career in human resources (HR) because she believed that people are the heart of any organization. She found that companies did not normally give the HR department much respect or a seat at the executive table. Their role was taking orders, doing administrative responsibilities, and helping managers with their challenges. Maggie found herself working in a silo with no easy way to interface with others for support. She worked 25 years in Human Resources Management and Talent Development. Maggie held the designation of SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources).
Maggie has developed a plethora of business skills. She was in the staffing industry, where she developed a new division. She found exercising her entrepreneurial spirit became the key to the division’s success. Next, Maggie became a business owner for various industries including a trade exchange, Internet marketing, and business consulting. More recently, Maggie worked as a business broker for six years and successfully sold more than 20 businesses. Maggie has completed numerous personal growth programs, has two coaching certifications, as well as a mental health first aid certification.
